Tested & Certified
Brome & Alfalfa

Smithville Hay is a local family-run farm in our family for over 150 years. John and I specialize in high-quality brome and alfalfa production for the local community around Smithville, Missouri.  We know how important nutrition is for your animals. Better hay means healthier horses, cows, calves, goats, kids, llamas, and bunnies.   We will test it so you can choose what is right for you.  You can also choose from 3 sizes of bales:  1) The 3-Day Bale: (a 40-pound square-easy-to-throw-and-store bale. These will feed an average-sized horse for 3 days, an average-sized cow for 2 days, and a goat for 7 days),  2) A Standard Square Bale (55 to 60-pound square), and 3) A Big Round Bale that weighs around 900 pounds.

Our hay is tested and certified, and it is a high-quality forage for horses, beef, goats, and small livestock. We send representative samples of every field to Midwest Labs in Lincoln, NE, for analysis. They test each sample for Moisture, Crude Protein, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron, Copper, Sulfur, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Manganese, Zinc, Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN), Net Energy (Gain, Lactation, Maintenance) (Applies to all feedstuffs where protein and complete mineral content are required.) https://midwestlabs.com/  These results are published on our website, SmithvilleHay.com..
